All the products I use are cruelty-free of course 🐇❤️ The products in this list are products I bought in 2017 and really love! …
- Formula 10.0.6 – Picture Perfect Day – Gel Moisturiser with SPF 15
This is the perfect moisturizer for me. It really works for my dry, sensitive skin and I love the fact that it has a little SPF in it.
- Formula 10.0.6 – One Smooth Operator – Pore Clearing Face Scrub
A good scrub is crucial for good skin. It’s especially important to regularly scrub your face if you want your skin makeup to apply well and stay in place. I was looking for an affordable scrub and landed on this. I approve!
- Nip+Fab – No Needle Fix Eye
I’m really picky when it comes to eye creams, and maybe more so now that I’m starting to get fine lines under my eyes (I am turning 23 tomorrow after all!😅 )This eye cream both hydrates and tightens the skin under the eyes and makes the application of concealer so much smoother.
- Cocosa – Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
I use coconut oil to remove my makeup and sometimes as a hair mask (all though I prefer regular hair masks over it because they’re easier to wash away). For a makeup-remover, I lightly rub my face in with a spoonful of coconut oil, then let it sit for half a minute before I remove it with some cotton pads. Easy and affordable!
(Lashes and Brows)
- iGlow – Long Lash Serum
This product is simply amazing! I had really short lashes before, but after using iGlow (I started last February) my lashes have actually grown quite a bit. It’s not exactly an affordable product, but the tube lasted me for a long time. Of course, you have to continue to use the product for the effect to last, but I think it’s worth it.
… Having hooded eyes I find longer lashes really opens them too. I’m addicted!
I wish I took before and after pictures, but unfortunately, I didn’t.
- RefectoCil – Eyelash and Eyebrow Tint – in Natural Brown
To tint my brows I use RefectoCil’s eyebrow tint. I have blond hair and darker roots, and I like my brows to be in a cold, brown color. I’ve tried many eyebrow tints, but this is the best in my opinion. It certainly lasts the longest (both the product and the result)
- IsaDora – Volume Lash Styler – in Black
Confession: I have been buying this product a while before 2017, but I just had to brag about it in this post. It’s the best mascara I’ve ever tried and *drumrolls* it’s affordable! It separates, elongate and gives volume to the lashes. I doubt I’ll ever replace this.
- The Body Shop – Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation – in 021 Havana Sand
My first Body Shop makeup product and I really love it! Makes me wonder if all of their makeup products are this great? It’s also my first matte foundation which I actually like (dry skin you know). I haven’t quite decided if I prefer blending it with my brush or beauty blender, but one thing is for certain – you gotta blend it fast. That’s the only downside I’ve discovered about it though. By the way, it contains tea tree oil and claims to promote clearer looking skin, be full coverage and to be breathable. So far I agree. I’ve been using it since December.
- Wet n Wild – Megaglo Contouring Palette – in Dulce de Leche
A really affordable and good product. I use the light part on my lids to set them after using concealer and the bronzer part to warm up my face. I think it’s more of a bronzer than a contour-shade because it’s a little bit too warm (at least for me) to contour with, so if I’m taking my makeup “all out” I use the Bahama Mama powder to contour with before warming up my face with the Megaglo palette.
- NYX – Micro Brow Pencil -in Medium Ash Brown
I love using this brow pencil for my brows! It’s the perfect color and the perfect product. The only bad thing about it is how quickly I run out of product. I’ve seen reviews that I’m not the only one that thinks that part of it sucks. So please NYX, if you read this (as if), please fit more product in the container!
- NYX – Matte Liquid Liner – in Black
Since I discovered that ArtDeco isn’t cruelty-free after all, I had to find another liquid liner. Now I use the Matte Liquid Liner from NYX, which is a great product I think I will continue to purchase!
- Jeffree Star – Velour Liquid Lipstick – in Gemini
Confession: I haven’t actually bought this product YET, but I borrow it from my sister aaall the time because it is soooo pretty and long-lasting. 🖤
.. So maybe not a regular part of my routine, but I want it to be when I finally buy it.
- Fudge – Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo
This is my go-to violet shampoo! It’s the best at removing yellow tones and brassiness. I’ve even used it to get grey hair before.
- Define – Moroccan Argan Oil – Both the shampoo and conditioner
I always go back to these products, because they are affordable, and also (of course) because they really work for my hair! My hair needs lots of moisture and nurture after all the bleaching I’ve put it through, so I’m glad I don’t have to use a fortune on shampoo and conditioner to keep my hair healthy.
- Gosh – Argan Oil
I don’t think this product is available in Norway anymore, which sucks. I loved using it after washing my hair because it really made a big difference. My hair normally tangles easily, but after I’d use this oil, my hair would feel much healthier, shinier and it was way easier to brush through.
Talking about hair … I cut a lot of my hair off a couple of months ago and it feels amazing! My hair is so much healthier and easier to work with! I also evened out my blonde color a little and made my roots darker. I regret my darker roots though because I thought that it would make my regrowth look more natural and blended with the rest of the hair, but the color I ended up with is too dark and not blended properly.
I was so satisfied right after my hair appointment (she said the root color would get lighter) but after a week or two, I wasn’t anymore. I think I’ve only been completely satisfied after a hairdresser appointment one time in my life! It’s really expensive to get your hair done here in Norway, so I don’t do it very often. Once a year, maybe.
Anyway… What are your favorite products from 2017? Do we share some favorites perhaps?
Sorry if this text is full of errors and whatnot, but I couldn’t be bothered to proofread today🤷🏼♀️
Happy New Year! 🎆 I hope that 2018 will be good to you!
